The Acorn

  • Idylic rural, Northland countryside.
  • Central location for Bay of Islands, Kerikeri, Paihia, Waitangi, easy access to East and West coasts
  • Sweet old, traditional bach.
The Acorn is a lovely, old, wooden, 2 bedroom cottage, fully furnished in a country style, with an enclosed garden, surrounded by gum trees and poplars.

We're just outside the small rural village of Ohaeawai, (with a great butcher and a traditional NZ dairy) 15 minutes from Kerikeri and about 20 minutes from Paihia, the Bay of Islands and Waitangi (by car). A great central base for all that this area is famous for.

We are on the Twin Coast Cycle Trail and are perfectly positioned for the Okaihau/Kaikohe section.
The property was featured in Life and Leisure magazine in 2010.

The Cottage ~
The living room is very comfortable with a tv, dvd player and loads of dvds. There is also a woodburner to make the winter nights cosy.

You can park outside The Acorn. Our own house is about a 3 minute walk away along a banana grove, however the cottage is very private, as the bananas, fig tree and some conifers screen the houses from each other.

We're pet friendly, your dogs can come and stay in the house with you. Try not to let them jump all over the furniture, though!

This is very, small working farm, so come and have a chat with us about safety stuff and feed some chickens or alpacas and pat the donkey!

Ensure that any pets are well behaved and under control. There is a fence around The Acorn but if you think your dogs may escape - over or under the fence - please supervise them as there are cows, ducks, chickens, a donkey and alpacas around.
Speaking of chickens, they lay really lovely eggs so I'll put some of them down at the cottage for you. ( if they are laying)

Price is for up to a maximum of 4 people. Please don't ask for more.
A 30% deposit is required for all bookings. This is refunded in full if you have to cancel your booking, however you must give 1 weeks notice.
